FREDERICTON, NB – A hard fought game and a fourth-place finish for the Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s volleyball team.

The club competed at the CCAA (Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association) Nationals hosted by St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The Kodiaks finished their season with a 20-1 record and went into the tournament as the ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference) Wildcard entry.

In the opening quarter-final, the Kodiaks fell 3-2 against the Volontaires de Sherbrooke on Thursday, March 12.

This put them into the bronze medal quarter-final on March 13 against the Holland Hurricanes.

In that matchup, the Kodiaks were victorious 3-0. That win placed them in the bronze medal semi-final on Saturday, March 14.

Against Red Deer Athletics, Lethbridge represented southern Alberta well – picking up a 3-2 win to secure a spot in the tournament’s bronze medal game.

The bronze matchup would be a rematch against the Volontaires and once again, the Sherbrooke club was victorious, winning in five sets and earning third place at the tournament.

In the event’s final, the Capilano Blues beat the Humber Hawks 3-0 to claim gold.
