LETHBRIDGE, AB – The world’s largest online retailer is temporarily prioritizing all of its efforts on delivering “household staples, medical supplies and other high demand products coming into our fulfillment centres.”

The company said in a press release that they want to ensure that these essential goods can be more quickly received, restocked, and shipped to customers.

Goods that are in “high demand” include baby products, groceries, pet supplies, and personal care products.

Sellers were informed on Tuesday they would only be accepting these kinds of products for the next three weeks.

According to the company, they have blocked or removed tens of thousands of items where prices were artificially raised.

Amazon announced on Monday they are hiring 100,000 new full and part-time positions in the United States at their fulfillment centres and delivery networks to meet the surging demand for online shopping.
