LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge has received “unconfirmed reports” that a member of their “University community (Lethbridge campus)” has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

A statement from the U of L says that a member of their campus community reported to them that their partner, who recently returned from an international trip, has tested positive for the virus.

“The affected individual has not been on campus since returning, however, our community member has.”

Both people are self-isolating.

The community member informed their supervisor, within the University Centre for the Arts, about the situation.

The supervisor directed those who had been in close contact with this person to self-isolate.

“Cleaning actions have been implemented. This will further reduce transmission risk and we have closed the specific facilities associated with this individual until further notice.”

The U of L says they are monitoring this situation and will provide additional updates as appropriate.
