Text messages will provide mental health and wellness support
MEDICINE HAT, AB – A new service is available to support mental health and wellness for anyone who may be struggling during the COVID-19 crisis.
Text4Hope is a free service that will provide three months of daily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-based text messages written by mental health therapists.
According to Alberta Health Services, which is behind the program, Text4Hope is an evidence-based tool that helps people identify and adjust the negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviours a pandemic might be expected to provoke.
People who subscribe to the daily messages will receive advice and encouragement helpful in developing healthy personal coping skills and resiliency.
