Lethbridge duo charged after major drug and weapons bust

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two Lethbridge residents have been charged following a drug and weapons bust.

Lethbridge Police say on March 24, members of the Crime Suppression Team (CST), the Priority Crimes Unit and Patrols executed search warrants at a residence along the 2900 block of 12 Avenue South, a detached garage on the 1000 block of 12 B Street South and a detached garage along Temple Boulevard as well as a vehicle.

At the southside garage, police arrested a man while a female was apprehended at the residence.

Officials found more than 450 grams of methamphetamine worth just over $27,000, nearly $1,000 worth of cocaine, over $3,400 in cash, along with drug paraphernalia, two conducted energy weapons, three brass knuckles, bear spray, an airsoft gun that has the look of an assault rifle, a stolen snow blower, electronics and several used prepaid VISA cards.

33-year-old Nicholas Stephen Galbraith is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to an order, three counts of knowingly possessing a prohibited/restricted weapon, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000 and driving a motor vehicle without supervision.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Hope Victoria Ann Pogue is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Both individuals were released on undertakings and are set to appear in court on June 11, 2020.
