Blood Tribe announces mandatory curfew for youths

STANDOFF, AB – The Blood Tribe Chief and Council are taking steps to minimize the risk of community transmission of COVID-19.

Effective immediately, all residents under the age of 18 must stay at home between the hours of 9:00 pm and 6:00 am unless they are with a parent or other caregiver.

This applies to the entirety of the Blood Reserve including Standoff, Moses Lake, Levern.

The curfew will be monitored by the Blood Tribe Foot Patrol and Blood Tribe Police. Any youths found breaking curfew will be sent home.

β€œAll Blood Tribe members are being requested to assist in ensuring that this curfew is followed and that we keep our youth and other community members safe during this COVID-19 pandemic,” reads a statement from the Blood Tribe.

The administration is also asking everyone to practice physical distancing and proper hygiene.
