LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Alberta government is offering support to charitable and non-profit organizations who are helping the vulnerable during the COVID-19 global pandemic, in the form of $30 million in funding.

Eligible groups must address the social well-being of those most affected by the coronavirus and the measures being taken to limit the virus’ spread.

Those impacted can include seniors, people with chronic medical conditions, caregivers, families with children at home and individuals with limited access to supports.

A release from the City of Lethbridge said those services should align with one or more of the funding priorities listed below:

· Provide supports to help sustain people to remain members in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

· Fund civil society organizations to deliver projects for vulnerable Albertans who are in need during the health crisis.

· Coordinate services and programs to address the social well-being of vulnerable Albertans during the pandemic.

Applications for funding must be submitted locally to Lethbridge Family Community Social Services (FCSS), who will then forward applications to the Family and Community Support Services Association of Alberta (FCSSAA) for funding approval.

More details, along with the application form, can be found via the Government of Alberta website.
