Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival halted by COVID-19

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Southern Alberta’s largest early summer events has fallen victim to COVID-19.

The 2020 ATB Financial Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival committee had initially intended to make a decision on the viability of this year’s festival on June 1. However, the magnitude of the planning and the direction of the pandemic prompted the committee act sooner and CANCEL the event, which was scheduled for June 26 to 28.

Crews and vendors registered will be contacted regarding refunds.

The Festival was initiated by all of Lethbridge’s Rotary Clubs and began with 17 crews on a June weekend in 2002. The Festival has grown since then and now hosts about 65 crews every year.
