Standoff man charged with break & enter and theft near Lloydminster

MARWAYNE, AB – RCMP in a northern Alberta community have arrested a man from the south.

Kitscoty RCMP responded to reports of several people trying to steal a trailer from a rural property near Marwayne. Marwayne is approximately 43 km northwest of Lloydminster.

With the assistance of Vermilion RCMP and RCMP Police Dog Services, three suspects were arrested.

This includes Jesse Hugh Flett, 33, of Standoff. He has been charged with two counts of break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, theft over $5,000, and failing to comply with an order.

He was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on April 21, 2020.

Flett was previously charged with a series of offences in January in connection to bales of hay being stolen near Brocket. Pincher Creek RCMP claim to have found 14 firearms, a large amount of ammunition, a quantity of methamphetamine, and a truck that had been stolen out of Pincher Creek.

His co-accused are Justin Robert Gervan, 26, of Andrew, Alberta and Jade Thornton, 21, of Lamont County, Alberta. They were jointly charged with two counts of break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, and theft over $5,000.
