14 new COVID-19 infections in Brooks, no additional cases elsewhere in South Zone

BROOKS, AB – The Government of Alberta has released its latest report on COVID-19 cases in the province.

105 new cases have been confirmed, bringing the provincial total to 2,908.

Four new deaths related to the virus have been announced, two in the Calgary Health Zone, one in the Edmonton Health Zone, and one in the North Health Zone.

To date, the virus has resulted in the deaths of 59 Albertans.

105,317 people have been tested so far.

1,230 patients have made full recoveries.

The breakdown by regional health zone is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 2,077 cases, 40 deaths (two new)
    • 43,435 tests
  • Edmonton zone – 438 cases, nine deaths (one new)
    • 32,908 tests
  • South zone – 156 cases
    • 5,183 tests
  • North zone – 143 cases, nine deaths (one new)
    • 8,217 tests
  • Central zone – 77 cases, one death
    • 9,487 tests

For the South Health Zone, another 14 cases were confirmed Monday, all of which are in Brooks.

The community breakdown is as follows:

  • Brooks – 115 cases (14 new)
  • Medicine Hat – 15 cases, 10 recovered
  • Lethbridge – 11 cases, eight recovered
    • West Lethbridge – six cases, five recovered
    • South Lethbridge – five cases, three recovered
  • Cypress County – eight cases, one recovered
  • M.D. of Taber – two cases, two recovered
  • County of Forty Mile – two cases, two recovered
  • Lethbridge County – one case
  • County of Newell – one case
