LPS seizes Mercedes, Rolex, weapons, drugs, cash, other items in drug bust

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) made a pair of significant drug-related arrests on the west side Wednesday night.

The Crime Suppression Team was investigating suspected drug trafficking following a search warrant at a home on Mt. Sundial Bay West.

Two children, aged eight and 14, were found in the home and turned over to the care of a relative.

During the search, police claim to have found a loaded handgun with the serial number ground off, more than 100 grams of fentanyl, Oxycodone, Xanax, methamphetamine, cocaine, nearly $22,000 in cash, a Mercedes Benz, Yamaha Raptor ATV, an electric bike, and a high-end mountain bike.

A 33-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were later found and arrested on the 100 block of Columbia Boulevard West and additional items were found. This includes more methamphetamine, a gold Rolex watch worth nearly $57,000, a necklace valued at $12,000, and over $1,700 in cash. A Ford Explorer was also seized.

The pair are jointly charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (3x), possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, knowingly possessing a restricted weapon, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by an offence, possession of a firearm with an altered/defaced serial number, and causing a child to be drug-endangered.

Both are remanded in custody and are awaiting bail hearings.

Their names are not being released to protect the identities of the children.
