LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge man has entered guilty pleas to two counts related to the drug trade.

Daud Abdul Kadir Mohamed appeared in Court of Queen’s Bench Monday morning and pleaded guilty to possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

LNN obtained a copy of the Agreed Statement of Facts.

It says that, in November 2016, Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) was informed that Mohamed was selling cocaine and fentanyl in the Lethbridge area.

“Police were told Mohamed was the main fentanyl dealer in Lethbridge.”

LPS determined that he was operating a dark purple 2012 Infinity M37X and officers conducted eight days of surveillance between November 8 and December 1.

They witnessed activities “consistent with what the police believed to be drug trafficking” during their stakeouts.

Search warrants were executed at his vehicle, a home in Lethbridge, and a home in Coalhurst on December 1, 2016.

Mohamed was arrested at the Lethbridge residence. He was found to have 200 fentanyl pills in the front pocket of his jacket and keys to both homes.

In the Lethbridge residence, police also confiscated 72 fentanyl pills, $6,975 in cash, and three cell phones. Inside his car were his driver’s license and registration as well as another two phones.

The conditions for his release set out in December 2016 will remain in effect until he is sentenced.
