Lethbridge County issues Fire Advisory
LETHBRIDGE, AB.– The current dry and warm conditions are forecast to continue and for that reason, the County has issued a Fire Advisory, whic is in effect until further notice.
An Advisory is not a Fire Ban. However, officials encourage County residents to use extra caution when burning at this time. Fire permits are mandatory at all times and can be applied for on the County website http://lethcounty.ca/departments/emergency-services/fire-por on the Lethbridge County app.
Once a fire permit has been granted, permit regulations must be followed. When burning, you are responsible to monitor the fire continuously and extinguish it immediately, if wind speeds exceed 15 km per hour. Do not hesitate to call 911 if the fire becomes uncontrollable.
If current conditions persist, the County may impose a Fire Ban, which would require the immediate extinguishing of all fires.
