190 new infections were announced Thursday, bringing the provincial total to 5,355.

Another two people in the South Health Zone have died as a result of the virus, but at the time of publication, we are still waiting to learn where exactly in the region these patients were from. There was also one new fatality in the Edmonton Zone.

At the same time, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw clarified that one death that was previously said to be the result of COVID-19 is no longer the case. This means that 89 Albertans have succumbed to COVID-19 to date.
