LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge Shoppers Drug Mart is warning customers of potential exposure to COVID-19.

Shoppers has sent out a notice stating that a team member at the 3071 26 Avenue N. location in Lethbridge tested positive on a presumptive test for the novel coronavirus.

Loblaw Companies, which is Shoppers’ parent organization, confirmed this in an email correspondence with Lethbridge News Now.

According to Shoppers’ notice, the individual has not been at the store since April 28.

“Over and above our daily disinfectant protocols and the social distancing practices we put in place in response to COVID-19, we are taking the following steps,” Shoppers stated, listing these steps:

· They have arranged for a thorough deep-clean and sanitization to the store.

· They have reached out to the local public health authority to investigate the team member’s recent shifts and direct contacts.

· They have instructed any potentially exposed team members to stay home and self-isolate.

· Out of an abundance of caution, staff are notifying customers who recently visited the store.

“We understand that you may have questions and want to assure you that we take your safety, and the safety of our team, very seriously,” read the notice.
