LETHBRIDGE, AB – Noah Chadwick has been signed by the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The 14-year-old defenseman was drafted 38th overall, in the second round of last month’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft by the Lethbridge club.

The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-born Chadwick played in 21 games during the 2019-2020 season with the Saskatoon Stallions Bantam AA team.

He scored 42 points (nine goals, 33 assists) along with four penalty minutes over those games.

In a release, Hurricanes general manager Peter Anholt said, “his hockey sense is really, really high and he’s going to be one of those guys that can run a power play eventually in our league.”

“I think any time you can [get] those types of players, it’s going to be a good add for your backend.”

Chadwick is the younger brother of Saskatoon Blades prospect Ethan Chadwick. Noah finished second in scoring among d-men on the Stallions last season while finishing sixth in overall team scoring with 42 points. In two campaign with the team, he skated in 51 regular season games, collecting 55 points (16 goals, 39 assists) and six penalty minutes.

He’s the second player so far from the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft to sign with the Hurricanes, following last week’s signing of first round pick Cole Miller.
