Multiple Kodiaks earn CCAA Academic All-Canadian honours

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Nine Lethbridge College Kodiaks student-athletes have received Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Academic All-Canadian honours.

To be eligible, student-athletes must earn at least all-conference status in their respective sport, while achieving a grade point average of at least 3.3.

The Kodiaks honourees are tied for the most in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and are tied for third most in the nation.

Three of the Lethbridge College student-athletes who have received the All-Canadian honours also earned ACAC player of the year recognition: Brock Dewsbery (men’s basketball), Ben Knight (men’s soccer) and Christine Moser (women’s soccer).

Also receiving All-Canadian honours are Kirsten Barwegen (women’s basketball), Rose Bouchard and Anna Leblanc (women’s cross country runners), Jasmin Salmon (women’s soccer), Jimmy Bukuru (men’s soccer) and Michael Hummel (men’s volleyball).

The nine student-athlete total is the second highest in Kodiaks history. The program has had at least six CCAA Academic All-Canadians in each of the past five seasons.

The Kodiaks also had 47 CCAA national scholars and 53 ACAC academic honours this season.
