Pronghorns men’s soccer adds three new players to 2020 recruiting class

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Three new players have joined the fold of the U of L’s soccer program.

Southern Alberta’s Will Hughes, Calgary resident Karim Bachir Bey and Kootenay Whitecap Academy player Cadel Goertzen have signed with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men’s soccer team.

Hughes, a wingback/fullback comes from the Lethbridge Football Cub (LFC) and plans to pursue a degree in kinesiology, according to a Pronghorns Athletics-issued release.

Bachir Bey comes to the U of L from the Calgary Foothills Soccer Club, with men’s soccer coach Randy Bardock noting he can play throughout the midfield and at fullback.

Bachir Bey is currently a part of the Cavalry U20 program and will study within the Arts and Science faculty at the University of Lethbridge.

A striker, Cadel Goertzen is from the Thompson Okanagan Football Club (TOFC). The release noted that he will be pursuing a degree in kinesiology.

Goertzen is the second player from the TOFC to join the Pronghorns for next season. Nathan Riemer was previously announced as a member of the men’s soccer recruiting class for the 2020 season.
