Alberta adds two deaths and one new COVID case for Lethbridge

EDMONTON, AB. — Alberta’s update of the COVID-19 numbers for Monday, May 11 shows an additional 47 cases, taking the total number 6,300.
Two new deaths increased the total number of deaths to 119. One is associated with the Cargill meatpacking plant at High River and the other death is in the Special Areas No. 2 just north of the County of Newell.
The breakdown by regional health zone is as follows:
- Calgary zone – 4,278 cases, 1,011 active
- 82 deaths
- 54 in hospital, eight in ICU
- 79,675 tests
- South zone – 1,159 cases, 338 active
- Seven deaths
- Five in hospital, two in ICU
- 14,234 tests
- Edmonton zone – 511 cases, 53 recovered
- 12 deaths
- Nine in hospital, two in ICU
- 50,295 tests
- North zone – 228 cases, 27 active
- 15 deaths
- Five in hospital
- 13,547 tests
- Central zone – 99 cases, 17 active
- One death
- 14,521 tests
