Monday’s COVID-19 up date shows two added cases for Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Updated numbers from Alberta Health service for Monday, May 18, show the COVID-19 numbers have risen by just 39 cases. That puts the province’s total cases at 6,683, with 1,036 cases still active.

A total of 65 people remain in hospital, with nine in intensive care and one additional death has take total deaths to 128.

In the South Zone, four news cases were added on Monday, one in Brooks, two in Lethbridge on the South side and one new case in Cardston County, which is on the Blood Reserve, where 13 of the 20 County cases are located.

The breakdown by regional health zone is as follows:

Calgary zone – 4,603 cases
South zone – 1,210 cases
Edmonton zone – 518 cases
North zone – 229 cases
Central zone – 99 cases

Brooks – 1,090 cases (one new), 74 active, seven deaths
Medicine Hat – 35 cases, five active
Lethbridge – 23 cases, six active
- South Lethbridge – 12 cases, (two new), four active
- West Lethbridge – Eight cases, one active
- North Lethbridge – Three cases, one active
Cardston County – 20 cases (one new), 15 active
County of Newell – 14 cases, three active
Cypress County – 10 cases, three active
Fort Macleod – Five cases, two active
Special Areas No. 2 – Two cases, zero active, one death
M.D. of Taber – Two cases, zero active
County of Forty Mile – Two cases, zero active
Lethbridge County – One case, zero active
