LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge looks to expand its waste and recycling operations.

As of Saturday, May 23, yard waste sites will be working seven days a week from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. On-site restrictions will still be in effect, which includes:

  • Maintain a physical distance of two meters from others
  • You must be able to unload your own materials
  • Follow the directions of site attendants
  • Use paper bags to avoid having to de-bad materials from plastic bags when possible
  • Only one customer is allowed at the branch chipper or compactor at one time
  • Do not attend if you are ill

The Wate and Recycling Centre (landfill) will maintain its current hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

From May 23-25, there will be three days of free residential disposal at the landfill. This is meant to manage any backlogs of materials people might have accumulated during the COVID-19 restrictions.

The regular free Saturday program will resume as of Saturday, May 30.

Large item service (LIS) is back to regular operations. If you had booked a LIS pickup but no longer require it, please call 311 to cancel.

Demolition bin rentals will resume. Call 311 to book it.
