May 24, 2020 | 6:35 AM

BROOKS, AB – RCMP in Brooks are investigating a single vehicle rollover.

The emergency response occurred at around 11:50 p.m. on Friday, May 22. Brooks RCMP, Brooks Emergency Medical Services and the Brooks Fire Department attended the scene on Highway 1 near the 15 Ave. W on-ramp on the northern outskirts of the city.

First responders found a lone male laying in the median with multiple injuries near a damaged vehicle, according to an RCMP release.

The 19-year-old male, from Duchess, Alberta, was brought to Brooks Hospital by ground ambulance, and then transferred to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, also by ground ambulance.

RCMP say the 19-year-old suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.

According to the release, investigators found that the male failed to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway and rolled several times, coming to rest in the centre median of the westbound and eastbound lanes.

No one else was involved in the collision.

RCMP stated that speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the incident.

No further details will be released at this time as the RCMP continues to investigate.
