One new COVID-19 case in Lethbridge Thursday, 40 provincially

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released its latest update on COVID-19 for Thursday, June 11.

Provincially, another 40 infections were confirmed, bringing the total to 7,316. Of those, 379 cases are still active while 6,788 people have recovered.

One more person in the Calgary Health Zone has died as a result of the virus, meaning it has now claimed the lives of 149 Albertans.

The regional breakdown for Alberta is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 5,038 cases, 204 active
    • 110 deaths (one new)
    • 33 in hospital, four in ICU
    • 134,053 tests
  • South zone – 1,269 cases, 20 active
    • Nine deaths
    • One in hospital
    • 21,838 tests
  • Edmonton zone – 662 cases, 140 active
    • 13 deaths
    • Seven in hospital, two in ICU
    • 79,609 tests
  • North zone – 246 cases, 12 active
    • 16 deaths
    • Four in hospital
    • 22,010 tests
  • Central zone – 89 cases, two active
    • One death
    • 22,574 tests

As for the breakdown for the South Health Zone, the province recently changed the way they display information on the geospatial map, which is how we get the information for this. Due to this change, some of the local numbers may be off from what we have previously reported.

  • Brooks – 1,117 cases, one active, nine deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 36 cases, one active
  • Lethbridge – 33 cases (one new), five active
    • South Lethbridge – 14 cases (one new), two active
    • West Lethbridge – 13 cases, zero active
    • North Lethbridge – Six cases, three active
  • Cardston County – 30 cases, 10 active
  • Cypress County – 21 cases, one active
  • County of Newell – 20 cases, one active
  • Fort Macleod – Six cases, zero active
  • M.D. of Taber – Two cases, zero active
  • County of Forty Mile – Two cases, zero active
  • Lethbridge County – One case, one active
