Pronghorn Athletics teams with Sport Development Centre for coaching series

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns and Alberta Sports Development Southwest (ASDC SW) have teamed up for a 10-session coaching development series.

Pronghorn varsity team coaches and other industry professionals will share tips geared towards minor sport coaches in southern Alberta.

The series will be conducted via video conference.

It will cover topics that can be used in multiple sports and enhance tools that coaches have at their disposal to improve their performance and the success of athletes.

Registration is required for the sessions, and a link to the Zoom conference call will be sent directly to the participants’ email the day before each sessions they’ve registered for.

The first session is this Wednesday (June 17) with women’s basketball coach Dave Waknuk.

Below is a list of each session, its date and time, host coaches and the topic for the session:

o Ilsa Wong – Women’s Soccer Coach – “Effective Communication with Athletes”

· Wednesday, July 22 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

o Peter Schori – Swim Team Coach – “Coaching Individual Performance in the Team Environment”

o Josh Hoetmer – Mental Performance Consultant with ASDC SW – “Mental Performance: What it is and How to Integrate it”
