$62,000 worth of drugs and cash seized in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Members of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) made a significant drug bust in Lethbridge this week.

They searched two homes on the west side on Monday and allegedly confiscated several items related to the drug trade and made three arrests.

The seized items include 101 grams of methamphetamine, 54 grams of suspected carfentanil, 54 grams of cocaine, and $29,060 in cash proceeds of crime.

“The presence of carfentanil continues to be a major concern in Southern Alberta,” said Staff Sgt. Leon Borbandy, ALERT Lethbridge. “ALERT is committed to doing everything we can to keep this harmful drug off the streets of the communities we serve.”

Leslie Cole, 29, is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Brandon Bougie, 27, is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Anthony Jones, 21, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of the proceeds of crime.

The trio of suspects are scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on July 23.
