TABER, AB – The support for HALO Air Ambulance continues to swell.

This week, the M.D. of Taber invited members of HALO for a presentation where they gave them a cheque for $30,000.

“HALO is a very important link in the chain of survival in our area,” the M.D of Taber Regional Fire Service wrote in a Facebook post. “The members of the MD of Taber Regional Fire Service thank you for supporting this cause!”

As well, the local Firefighters Association in Taber is teaming up with Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME) to raise additional funds.

RME has donated a Traeger Timberline Pro barbeque, which will be given away in a raffle.

Tickets can be purchased at RME in Taber with all proceeds minus association costs going to HALO. The draw date is July 16.

Back in May, HALO announced that they were in desperate need of funding as the COVID-19 pandemic had “decimated” their abilities to fundraise.

After the provincial government reportedly denied giving HALO extra money, a series of wildly-successful fundraisers were launched.

An estimated $320,000 was collected through Free Fry Day and an online auction secured over $200,000.
