69 new COVID-19 infections in Alberta Saturday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released its report on COVID-19 for Saturday, June 27.

69 new infections were confirmed provincially, bringing the total to 7,957. 520 cases are still active and 7,283 people have recovered.

Today, there was also nine new cases in the South Zone.

No additional deaths were reported, leaving the number to date for Alberta at 154.

The regional breakdown is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 5,290 cases, 221 active
    • 112 deaths
    • 164,575 tests
  • South Zone – 1,302 cases, 31 active
    • 10 deaths
    • 27,999 tests
  • Edmonton zone – 958 cases, 228 active
    • 15 deaths
    • 115,974 tests
  • North zone – 303 cases, 36 active
    • 16 deaths
    • 29,841 tests
  • Central zone – 90 cases, two active
    • One death
    • 28,662 tests

As for the breakdown for the South Health Zone, the province recently changed the way they display information on the geospatial map, which is how we get the information for this. Due to this change, some of the local numbers may be off from what we have previously reported.

  • Brooks – 1,119 cases, three active, nine deaths
  • Lethbridge – 43 cases (three new), 10 active
    • West Lethbridge – 18 cases (two new), five active
    • South Lethbridge – 14 cases, zero active
    • North Lethbridge – 10 cases (one new), five active
  • Cardston County – 39 cases, eight active, one death
  • Medicine Hat – 40 cases, (Two new) four active
  • Cypress County – 21 cases, zero active
  • County of Newell – 20 cases, zero active
  • Fort Macleod – seven cases, one active
  • Lethbridge County – Three cases, one active
  • M.D. of Taber – Two cases, zero active
  • County of Forty Mile – Two cases, zero active
  • County of Warner – One case, one active
