Lethbridge YMCA to open July 18th with restrictions

Jun 30, 2020 | 4:41 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB– YMCA Director of Communications Ross Jacobs announced today (June 30), the Lethbridge centre will open July 18th, with many protocols to be followed.

They intend to open all areas of the facility as permitted by AHS, including the Fitness Centre, and Gyms.

The aquatic centre is currently under repair so the YMCA says they will do their best to get it ready to be opened July 18th.

Remaining closed due to AHS restrictions will be the Hot Tub, Steam Rooms, Tollestrup Construction Play Space, our teen and youth room, child-minding, group bookings, and private rentals.

Jacobs announced all membership accounts will remain on hold with no payments due until December 31, 2020. If a member chooses not to renew before December 31, 2020, their membership will be cancelled.

Some guidelines that will be followed includes all bookings will have a 75-minute time slot in either the Fitness Centre, Aquatic Centre, or Gym.

Each member or guest will be allowed to make one 75-minute booking in one of the three areas per day. For example, a family of four coming to swim must pre-book an Aquatic space for each member of the family for a 75-minute time slot. When that time is up, the facility will reset for the next group’s arrival, and the next visit for each of those four family members can not occur until the following day.

Members and guests are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their timeslot to register and complete the health pre-screen process.
