Jul 6, 2020 | 2:15 PM

CALGARY, AB. — The Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) are seeking nominations for the 2021 Environmental Stewardship Award (ESA).

Committee Chair, Kolton Kasur, wants producers to help continue to celebrate Alberta producers who exhibit exemplary environmental stewardship, by nominating someone who is a leader in Alberta’s beef industry.

“This long-running award recognizes cattle producers whose natural resource stewardship practices contribute to the environment and enhance productivity and profitability on their operations.

Kasur outlines what the environmental stewardship judges will be looking for in their deliberations:

“We’re asking producers to share the outstanding management practices employed on their operations and to present a positive story about cattle production and the environment.”

Kassur wants produces to get their nominations in right away, and he explains how to do it.

“Nomination forms are available in the producers section of the Alberta Beef Producers website at www.albertabeef.org as well as from the Alberta Beef Producers’ office or from your local delegate.”

“A team of judges will review the nominations and each applicant will be scored on predetermined criteria unique to the practices they implement on their business. A decision on touring nominated operations will be made at a later date.”

Again, the deadline for nominations is July 15, 2020, and the winner will be announced in 2021.
