Two Lethbridge men charged for allegedly stealing a vehicle and trailer

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Members of the Crime Suppression Team have charged two men who reportedly stole a vehicle and a trailer.

These arrests come after a citizen observed her friend’s stolen vehicle and reported it to police.

A patrol team attended the area and used a pinning technique to immobilize the stolen Suburban after it was parked in a lot along the 3800 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South.

The vehicle was initially reported stolen out of Coaldale and had been attached to a trailer.

The trailer contained kayaks and life jackets, and was recovered in Coalhurst and returned along with the Suburban to its owner.

Derek Edward Schalk, 23, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, three counts of failing to comply with release conditions, and driving an uninsured vehicle on the highway and will appear in court July 23rd.

William Edward Fick, 31, of Lethbridge, is charged with failing to comply with release conditions and will appear in court July 10th.

There have been no further arrests at this moment.
