Lethbridge sees six new COVID cases Wednesday, 14 for South Zone

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released its report on COVID-19 for Wednesday, July 15.

82 infections were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 8,994. Of those, 704 cases are active while 8,172 have recovered.

64 people remain in hospital and seven have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU).

While Alberta Health reports 16 new cases for the South Health Zone, we could only identify 14 in their geospatial map that shows the community breakdown.

This includes another six for Lethbridge, four in Cardston County, and one each in the M.D. of Pincher Creek, the Crowsnest Pass, and the Counties of Newell and Forty Mile.

The case in the Crowsnest Pass is the first for the community.

Since yesterday’s report, the number of active cases in the County of Warner fell from 36 to just three.

The province is not reporting any additional deaths related to COVID-19, leaving the total at 163 to date.

552,276 tests for the virus have been completed to date.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is a follows:

  • Calgary zone – 5,689 cases, 312 active
    • 112 deaths
    • 200,258 tests
  • South zone – 1,447 cases, 81 active
    • 12 deaths
    • 34,473 tests
  • Edmonton zone – 1,287 cases, 194 active
    • 21 deaths
    • 158,163 tests
  • North zone – 397 cases, 53 active
    • 17 deaths
    • 38,880 tests
  • Central zone – 154 cases, 61 active
    • One death
    • 35,202 tests

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

  • Brooks – 1,121 cases, three active, nine deaths
  • Lethbridge – 65 cases (six new), 22 active
    • West Lethbridge – 30 cases (four new), 10 active
    • South Lethbridge – 20 cases (two new), six active
    • North Lethbridge – 15 cases, six active
  • Medicine Hat – 51 cases, six active, one death
  • Cardston County – 49 cases (four new), eight active, one death
  • County of Warner – 44 cases, three active, one death
  • Cypress County – 30 cases, three active
  • County of Newell – 22 cases (one new), two active
  • Fort Macleod – 16 cases, nine active
  • M.D. of Taber – 15 cases, six active
  • Lethbridge County – 14 cases, seven active
  • County of Forty Mile – Eight cases (one new), three active
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – Seven cases (one new), seven active
  • Crowsnest Pass – One case (one new), one active
