COALDALE, AB – The most recent bench boss of the University of Lethbridge’s women’s hockey team has a new gig. Doug Paisley has been named the new head coach of the Coaldale Copperheads.

Earlier this year, the U of L announced that its men and women’s hockey teams would be discontinued.

The Pronghorns roster led by Paisley last season missed out on a spot in the Canada West playoffs, but now he’ll be leading a new crop of players.

The Copperheads compete in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). The team is coming off a season in which they acquired a record of 24-13-1 and finished fourth in the HJHL Southern Division.

The Copperheads were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the High River Flyers.

Paisley is well versed in the local hockey scene. In addition to having served as the U of L women’s team’s head coach, Paisley also serves as the president of the Lethbridge Hurricanes board of directors.
