LETHBRIDGE, AB ā€“ All students, staff, and visitors will have to wear face masks at the University of Lethbridge, effective Monday, August 10.

The rule will apply to indoor public spaces such as hallways, washrooms, and elevators, as well as outdoors when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Staff will not be required to wear masks if they are in their office and the office is not accessible to the public.

The university is purchasing reusable maks for all faculty and students registered in face-to-face classes this fall.

Those living in campus residences will be provided with masks that must be worn when the student is not in their unit or if they are outdoors where distancing cannot be maintained.

Orders for face masks are still being fulfilled and might not be available until the end of August. Until then, people will have to use their own masks.

These policies will only be in effect at the U of Lā€™s Lethbridge campus. The Calgary campus, which is housed at Bow Valley College, will remain remote at this time.
