LETHBRIDGE, AB – The next phase of the University Drive Twinning project starts Tuesday.

Sunridge Boulevard from University Drive to the roundabout at Mt. Sundance Road West will be closed to traffic as of August 11 at 9:00 a.m.

This is to complete the roadway twinning construction west of the Sunridge roundabout. The closure will be in effect for approximately three weeks, according to the City of Lethbridge.

Vehicle traffic will be detoured to Rocky Mountain Boulevard West to access University Drive during this phase. The city stated that the goal is to complete this phase before school begins.

β€œFor the safety of construction workers, motorists are advised to drive with caution and to follow all construction and detour signs,” the city said in a release.

To accommodate increasing traffic volumes, University Drive West is being twinned from north of Stadium Drive West to south of Sunridge Boulevard West.

Future stages of the project will involve additional closures. More details on the University Drive Twinning can be found here.
