UPDATE: Police locate suspect and vehicle in hit and run

LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: Lethbridge Police have confirmed that they have located a red Volkswagen Jetta and tentatively identified the driver in connection with a hit and run last week.

“Police thank the public for the tips provided which assisted in locating the vehicle and tentatively identifying the driver,” police said in an update Tuesday morning.

LPS notes that the investigation is on-going.

Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking for your help in finding a person involved in a hit and run last week.

Officers were called to Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 12 where a 37-year-old man told police about the collision he was in.

He and a woman were driving along 10 Street North at the intersection of 3 Ave North when they were hit by a red 2000s-model Volkswagen Jetta.

Both vehicles pulled over and those involved got in an altercation.

It reportedly ended when the driver of the Jetta ran the man over with his vehicle.

The woman drove the victim to hospital in Lethbridge. He was later transported to Calgary in serious but stable condition.
