LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released Tuesday’s report on COVID-19, detailing the numbers over the past 24 hours.

The province notes that 74 infections that they reported as part of the case count for Friday, August 14 were done in error. This has now been rectified, but please note that many of the numbers in this article are smaller than in yesterday’s story.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says there was a data system upgrade that caused some of the numbers to be offset.

For the updated report, 89 new cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 12,419. Of those, 1,149 cases are active while 11,025 people have recovered.

One person in Fort Macleod died as a result of the virus, but no details on the patient were released. This means the virus has claimed the lives of 225 Albertans.

48 people are currently hospitalized and 11 have been admitted to intensive care units.

837,649 tests have been completed among 677,754 different people.
