High Risk incident results in arrest of wanted man

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Around 4:00-pm Wednesday afternoon, Lethbridge Police were called to deal with a high risk/barricaded subject in the 100 block of Lafayette Blvd. West.

The Critical Incident Response Team had the incident restricted to one residence and there was no danger to members of the public.

Just before 8:00-pm, the incident was brought to a conclusion, when the Critical Incident Response Team arrested 24-year old Dylan Ivan Sokol of Lethbridge.

Sokol was facing three charges, including Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm and was recently listed as the Lethbridge Police Service Wanted Wednesday.

On Aug. 12, 2020, police responded to Chinook Regional Hospital after a 37-year-old male was admitted with injuries sustained in a hit and run.

Sokol is charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and causing an accident resulting in bodily harm.

An investigation determined a man and a female acquaintance were driving along 10 Street North at the intersection with 3 Avenue North when they were involved in an altercation with the driver of a red Volkswagen Jetta.

Both vehicles pulled over and the confrontation continued culminating with the man being run over in the street.

The victim remains in stable condition at a hospital in Calgary.
