Oilers Foundation: Delayed 50/50 draw worth $14.3 million after refunds
EDMONTON: AB. — The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation says it is processing refunds and anticipates selecting a winner for its Aug. 7 50/50 draw early to mid next week.
“This week has been spent auditing and finalizing the refund and confirmation lists, to ensure we can move forward with an accurate final list of participants in the draw. These steps, although time consuming, were vital to ensure the integrity of the raffle,” the foundation said in an update Friday.
“We have been communicating with AGLC and they are supportive of this process. After refunds are processed and dollars are deposited back into the accounts of those customers who asked for refunds, we will be in a position to draw the winning number, which we expect will happen early to mid-next week.”
The foundation says that the draw, which originally peaked at $15.216 million, should land around $14.3 once refunds are take care of.
