Lethbridge has zero active COVID-19 cases

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released Monday’s report on COVID-19, detailing the numbers over the past three days.

Since Friday’s update covers the tests that were completed on Thursday, we are able to now report on the tests that were done on Friday.

258 cases were confirmed across the province with 83 on Friday, 106 on Saturday, and 69 on Sunday. This brings the total to 13,006, of which, 1,172 cases are active and 11,600 people have recovered.

Four more Albertans have died as a result of the virus with two of those being in the Edmonton Zone and one each in the South and North Zones. The person from the South Zone was from Fort Macleod, but details on the patient were not released by Alberta Health.

To date, 234 Albertans have died of COVID-19.

On the positive side of things, Lethbridge is completely free of active COVID cases and there was only one new infection in the entire South Health Zone this weekend, which was in the M.D. of Taber.

Across the region, only 20 cases remain active.

45 patients are currently hospitalized and nine have been admitted to intensive care units.

894,611 tests have been completed among 717,514 different people.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is a follows:

  • Calgary zone – 7,138 cases, 356 active
    • 118 deaths
    • 296,404 tests
  • Edmonton zone – 2,738 cases, 631 active
    • 58 deaths (two new)
    • 235,476 tests
  • South zone – 1,721 cases, 20 active
    • 24 deaths (one new)
    • 51,306 tests
  • North zone – 808 cases, 133 active
    • 27 deaths (one new)
    • 61,166 tests
  • Central zone – 569 cases, 26 active
    • Seven deaths
    • 60,172 tests

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

  • Brooks – 1,127 cases, three active, nine deaths
  • Lethbridge – 143 cases, zero active, two deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 54 cases, zero active
    • West Lethbridge – 51 cases, zero active, one death
    • North Lethbridge – 38 cases, zero active, one death
  • Cardston County – 102 cases, two active, five deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 67 cases, one active, two deaths
  • County of Warner – 59 cases, five active, one death
  • M.D. of Taber – 38 cases (one new), two active
  • Fort Macleod – 33 cases, one active, three deaths (one new)
  • Cypress County – 31 cases, zero active
  • County of Newell – 30 cases, three active, one death
  • Lethbridge County – 30 cases, two active
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 26 cases, one active, one death
  • County of Forty Mile – 20 cases, one active
  • Crowsnest Pass – Two cases, zero active
