127 new COVID cases in Alberta including two for Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released Wednesday’s report on COVID-19, detailing the numbers over the past 24 hours.

127 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 13,210. Of those, 1,176 cases are active while 11,799 people have recovered.

This includes three new infections in the South Health Zone, two of which were in Lethbridge and one in the County of Forty Mile.

In the first two days of this week, there were no active COVID cases in Lethbridge, but that is now at two. Medicine Hat, on the other hand, just saw its last active infection recover.

No additional deaths were announced in the province, meaning it has still claimed the lives of 235 Albertans.

48 patients are currently hospitalized and seven have been admitted to intensive care units.

912,302 tests have been conducted among 729,503 different people.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is a follows:

• Calgary zone – 7,205 cases, 362 active
  • 118 deaths
  • 300,658 tests
• Edmonton zone – 2,837 cases, 625 active
  • 59 deaths
  • 239,765 tests
• South zone – 1,726 cases, 20 active
  • 24 deaths
  • 52,038 tests
• North zone – 838 cases, 137 active
  • 27 deaths
  • 62,592 tests
• Central zone – 572 cases, 27 active
  • Seven deaths
  • 61,287 tests

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

• Brooks – 1,127 cases, three active, nine deaths
• Lethbridge – 145 cases (two new), two active, two deaths
  • South Lethbridge – 55 cases (one new), one active
  • West Lethbridge – 52 cases (one new), one active, one death
  • North Lethbridge – 38 cases, zero active, one death
• Cardston County – 102 cases, one active, five deaths
• Medicine Hat – 67 cases, zero active, two deaths
• County of Warner – 59 cases, five active, one death
• M.D. of Taber – 38 cases, two active
• Fort Macleod – 33 cases, zero active, three deaths
• County of Newell – 32 cases, four active, one death
• Cypress County – 31 cases, zero active
• Lethbridge County – 30 cases, zero active
• M.D. of Pincher Creek – 26 cases, one active, one death
• County of Forty Mile – 21 cases (one new), one active
• Crowsnest Pass – Two cases, zero active
