Lethbridge College to host ‘Movie on the Coulees’ drive-in event

Grab your popcorn and get set for a movie night with Lethbridge College.

The college will be hosting a ‘Movie on the Coulees’ night On Saturday, September 26. It’s a drive-in experience presented by Lethbridge College Alumni Engagement and Fresh Air Cinema.

Moviegoers will be able to enjoy the classic 1985 film The Goonies.

A 250-vehicle drive-in theatre will be set up in parking lots E and F on the east side of the Lethbridge College campus. Tickets are free but have to be ordered in advance online via the college’s website.

Only one ticket is needed for each vehicle, regardless of how many people are inside.

The college noted there will be no drive-up or foot traffic allowed, so staff are encouraging everyone to purchase tickets early.

“All around the world COVID-19 is disconnecting us from each other,” stated Lethbridge College Alumni Engagement coordinator Stephanie Savage.

“It’s important to us that our alumni and our community feel socially connected to each other and to Lethbridge College. To be able to offer an opportunity like this means a lot to us.”

Gates will open for the September 26 event at 7:30 p.m., with the movie set to start after dark.

Parking will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, except for over-sized vehicles, which may be asked to park in designated areas.
