VIDEO: New K-9 officer introduced while another retires

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Lethbridge Police’s K-9 unit has said goodbye to one of their veteran dogs and hello to one of their newest recruits.

Police service dog Zap has received his badge to officially graduate his 20-week training course showing obedience, tracking, and many other skills.

10-year-old Ymos on the other hand is saying goodbye to the badge and is retiring after 8 years of service with the LPS.

The ceremony held for the two marks the 30th official police dog to enter the LPS K-9 unit and Zaps demonstration proved he’s ready to get to work.
