124 COVID cases confirmed across Alberta, two in South Zone

LETHBRIDGE, AB. – Alberta Health Services has released Tuesday’s report on COVID-19, detailing the numbers over the past 24 hours.

124 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 15,957. Of those, 1,491 cases are active and 14,212 people have recovered.

This includes just two more infections in the South Health Zone with one each in Lethbridge County and Brooks.

There were no new COVID-19 deaths in Alberta, meaning it has claimed the lives of 254 people.

Provincially, 39 patients are currently hospitalized and seven have been admitted to intensive care units.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is as follows:

• Calgary zone – 8,198 cases, 540 active,
  • 120 deaths
  • 15 in hospital – five in ICU
• Edmonton zone – 4,026 cases, 650 active
  • 69 deaths
  • 18 in hospital – two in ICU
• South zone – 1,784 cases, 33 active
  • 25 deaths
  • None in hospital
• North zone – 1,261 cases, 223 active
  • 33 deaths
  • Six in hospital
• Central zone – 648 cases, 36 active
  • Seven deaths
  • None in hospital

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

• Brooks – 1,129 cases (one new), two active, nine deaths
• Lethbridge – 168 cases, eight active, two deaths
  • West Lethbridge – 69 cases, seven active, one death
  • South Lethbridge – 59 cases, zero active
  • North Lethbridge – 40 cases, one active, one death
• Cardston County – 105 cases, four active, five deaths
• Medicine Hat – 74 cases, three active, two deaths
• County of Warner – 62 cases, three active, one death
• Lethbridge County – 43 cases (one new), eight active
• M.D. of Taber – 40 cases, one active
• Fort Macleod – 33 cases, zero active, three deaths
• County of Newell – 32 cases, zero active, two deaths
• Cypress County – 31 cases, zero active
• M.D. of Pincher Creek – 26 cases, zero active, one death
• County of Forty Mile – 25 cases, three active
• Crowsnest Pass – Two cases, zero active
