History-making year for Smile Cookie campaign

LETHBRIDGE, AB – It was a record-breaking year for the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign.

$10.56 million was raised for charities across the country, thanks to the sales of the famous Smile Cookies at Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada.

The company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Hope Bagozzi, said donations raised during the September 14 to 20 campaign surpassed the 2019 total by roughly $760,000.

“We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of Canadians for our annual Smile Cookie campaign,” Bagozzi stated.

A restaurant in Dunnville, Ontario sold the most amount of cookies in the country, with over 60,000.

The small community only has about 6,000 residents. This was the third year in a row that the Dunnville Tim Hortons sold the most Smile Cookies in all of Canada, with their sales going to supporting the Dunnville Hospital and Healthcare Foundation.

In Lethbridge, proceeds from the campaign went towards helping the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation. Executive director Jason VandenHoek told Lethbridge News Now that they’re still waiting to hear the final numbers. LNN will provide an update when possible.

Tim Hortons restaurant owners across Canada will be presenting their local charity partners with Smile Cookie cheques over the next month.
