18 in Lethbridge test positive for COVID-19

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Alberta Health Services has released Tuesday’s report on COVID-19, detailing the numbers over the past 24 hours.

276 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 19,211. Of those, 1,900 cases are active while 17,030 people have recovered.

Over half of the new infections (158) were in the Edmonton Zone.

Meanwhile, in the South Health Zone, 23 people tested positive with 18 in the City of Lethbridge and five for Lethbridge County.

On Monday, LNN reported that there were 18 confirmed cases in Lethbridge County and eight in the city.

Across the region, 61 cases are currently active.

There was one COVID-19 death in the Calgary Zone, meaning it has now claimed the lives of 281 Albertans.

Provincially, 61 patients are currently hospitalized and 13 have been admitted to intensive care units.

1,442,603 tests have been completed among 1,078,066 different people.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 9,223 cases, 645 active
    • 130 deaths (one new)
    • 32 in hospital, seven in ICU
  • Edmonton zone – 5,886 cases, 1,063 active
    • 83 deaths
    • 23 in hospital, five in ICU
  • South zone – 1,882 cases, 61 active
    • 26 deaths
    • One in hospital, one in ICU
  • North zone – 1,489 cases, 99 active
    • 35 deaths
    • Four in hospital
  • Central zone – 689 cases, 26 active
    • Seven deaths
    • One in hospital

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

  • Brooks – 1,132 cases, three active, nine deaths
  • Lethbridge – 201 cases (18 new), 29 active, two deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 79 cases (three new), eight active, one death
    • South Lethbridge – 71 cases (eight new), 10 active
    • North Lethbridge – 51 cases (seven new), 11 active, one death
  • Cardston County – 106 cases, three active, five deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 83 cases, two active, two deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 71 cases (five new), 17 active
  • County of Warner – 63 cases, zero active, one death
  • M.D. of Taber – 44 cases, one active
  • County of Forty Mile – 40 cases, three active
  • Cypress County – 33 cases, two active
  • Fort Macleod – 33 cases, zero active, three deaths
  • County of Newell – 33 cases, one active, two deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 27 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – Two cases, zero active
