16 new COVID cases confirmed in Lethbridge, 332 provincially

LETHBRIDGE, AB — Alberta Health Services has released Friday’s report on COVID-19, detailing the numbers over the past 24 hours.

332 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 21,775. Of those, 2,836 cases are active while 18,651 people have recovered.

This includes 20 new infections in the South Zone with 16 in Lethbridge, two in Lethbridge County, and one each in Brooks and the County of Forty Mile.

For the City of Lethbridge, 138 cases are currently active while the South Health Zone as a whole has now surpassed 200 active infections.

There were no new COVID-19 deaths, meaning the virus has still claimed the lives of 288 Albertans.

Provincially, 117 patients are currently hospitalized and 11 have been admitted to intensive care units.

1,598,145 tests have been completed among 1,167,241 different people.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 9,924 cases, 820 active
    • 132 deaths
    • 40 in hospital, five in ICU
  • Edmonton zone – 7,305 cases, 1,525 active
    • 88 deaths
    • 63 in hospital, five in ICU
  • South zone – 2,058 cases, 202 active
    • 26 deaths
    • Six in hospital
  • North zone – 1,616 cases, 145 active
    • 35 deaths
    • Five in hospital, one in ICU
  • Central zone – 820 cases, 132 active
    • Seven deaths
    • Three in hospital

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

  • Brooks – 1,139 cases (one new), eight active, nine deaths
  • Lethbridge – 326 cases (16 new), 138 active, two deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 122 cases (five new), 43 active, one death
    • South Lethbridge – 111 cases (five new), 47 active
    • North Lethbridge – 93 cases (six new), 48 active, one death
  • Cardston County – 106 cases, three active, five deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 105 cases (two new), 40 active
  • Medicine Hat – 85 cases, three active, two deaths
  • County of Warner – 65 cases, three active, one death
  • M.D. of Taber – 44 cases, zero active
  • County of Forty Mile – 43 cases (one new), four active
  • County of Newell – 35 cases, two active, two deaths
  • Cypress County – 33 cases, zero active
  • Fort Macleod – 33 cases, zero active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 27 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – Two cases, zero active
