Calgary, AB – Alberta Beef Producers (ABP), is happy to hear of the recently established partnership between JBS Foods Canada and Kanematsu, a respected and leading food service and distribution company based in Japan.

ABP Chair, Kelly Smith, sees the long-term commitment between the two companies recognizes the value and prestige held by the Alberta Beef brand, within international markets.

“We are excited to see JBS Foods Canada place emphasis on the Alberta Beef brand as they develop partnerships overseas. This is a strong reflection of the hard work and dedication beef producers in Alberta, and across western Canada, put into raising exceptional beef. The opportunity to market more beef outside of Canada is positive for the entire industry.`

JBS Foods Canada announced the new partnership to the Alberta Beef Producers Board of Directors on Friday, October 16, 2020.

JBS indicated it will using already established brands, such as their premium beef brand Northern Gold and the Canadian Diamond Black Angus brand, to fulfill its new commitment.

JBS Foods Canada President, David Colwell, contends the Alberta Beef story is well known and admired around the world.

“We are honoured to once again partner with a highly respected organization, this time in an important international marketplace, to provide to Japanese consumers something very special. We believe Kanematsu will be a tremendous leader and promoter of this new program, and we thank them for their trust in our farm, ranch and feedlot families.”
