LPS lay 31 charges after weapons and stolen items recovered

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have arrested two people following a search warrant.

On Friday, October 16, officers searched a home on the 1800 block of 5 Ave North and claim to have found numerous weapons and several stolen items.

The weapons include knives, machetes, axes, bear spray, and a replica handgun.

Stolen items linked to thefts from motor vehicles include more than two dozen electronic devices, purses, and a backpack containing more than $5,000 in high-end hunting gear.

The estimated value of the stolen items is more than $15,000.

Jason Bertram, 46, of Lethbridge, faces 23 charges and is scheduled to appear in court on October 21.

Kirsten Bertram, 38, of Lethbridge, faces eight charges and is scheduled to appear in court on January 20, 2021.

Both have been released from custody on a promise to appear in court.
