RAYMOND, AB – A prominent member of the community, Ralph Price has passed away.

The Town of Raymond did not provide the cause of Price’s death, but wrote instead about his many accomplishments.

He was elected to Raymond town council in October 2017 and served on many boards and committees. This includes the audit and finance committee, inter-municipal collaboration framework committee, inter-municipal development plan committee, joint fire services, emergency management, Canadian Badlands and Tourism, and economic development.

As a professional accountant and partner at Price & Comin, Price also served on several community groups such as the Raymond Chamber of Commerce, the Raymond Rotary Club, and within his church.

Mayor Jim Depew had only positive things to say about Price.

“Ralph was a tremendous advocate for the public on our Council. He was always prepared for the meetings he attended, and always offered a perspective, that was considerate of the issue, as well as prudent for the organization he represented. He was an integral part of our Council and he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Marilyn and their family as they come to terms with this unfortunate change in their lives.”

It is unclear at this time when a by-election would be held to fill Price’s seat on council.
