Lethbridge man charged in connection with stolen vehicle

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Lethbridge Police have charged 30- year-old Nathan Brewer, in connection with a vehicle stolen on the Northside of Lethbridge.

On October 15, 2020, a resident reported to Lethbridge Police that their vehicle was stolen from a Northside residential area after they left it running and unattended.

The Lethbridge Police Priority Crimes Unit located the stolen vehicle on the Westside on October 21st.

Brewer was found inside the vehicle has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5000 and breach of undertaking.

Police advise anyone looking to “warm-up” their vehicle or leave their vehicle running unattended, it possibly could be stolen.

Here are some tips from LPS to prevent vehicle thefts and other property offences:

  • Don’t leave a running vehicle unlocked or unattended;
  • Don’t leave spare sets of keys in your vehicle;
  • If your vehicle or keys have been stolen, immediately change the locks;
  • Report any suspicious activity or vehicle crime to police.
